NBA on WWE

On one of the mornings I had in updating myself on the NBA, I bumped into this question of one of Yahoo! on NBA’s legion of readers.  I was laughing my head off on collaborating the rosters of the NBA and WWE.  Here’s what I had so far:

Big Ben on Bobby Lashley’s rig:

Dwight absorbing the RKO:

And, of course, KryptoNATE owning The 619:

More to come. Hahaha! =)

Shove ‘Em Red

Take a look at this November 12 third quarter shoving act between Houston Rockets and Phoenix Suns:

“Barnes and Alston will miss two games for starting the third quarter scuffle, while Nash will miss just one for slipping on an imaginary banana peel. In addition, Shaq was fined $35,000 and T-Mac was fined $25,000 for their roles in the altercation.” -Skeets

On my opinion, Rafer Alston and Steve Nash (coughs “and Shaq”) should be the ones getting the full penalty from what happened.  It’s so hilarious what Shaq did, shoving everyone he sees in red.  Freakin’ classy. Not.

Nov11: LBJ dunks on a game against the Bucks.  Yeah, a regular season gameplay, almost-freethrow-line dunk shot.

Random NBA

November 11, 2008 kiko 3 comments

Being so excited about the opening week, and a quite sophomore NBA follower that I am, these are some bits I picked up from lurking online:

  • Iverson-Billups trade: Nothing could be bigger than the DEN-DET trade involving Allen Iverson, Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess and Cheick Samb (although McDyess will be bought out). Based on their respective first 2 games with their new squads, AI haven’t provided Detroit any “answer” yet while Billups jives well with 2 wins.
  • James Posey to New Orlean’s Hornets: This chunks in more defensive presence on CP’s other side of the court. Boston, tsk tsk.
  • Jermaine O’Neal to Toronto Raptors: There’s nothing here, I’m a Jermaine fan.
  • The night Devin Harris screwed AI’s home debut.
  • Derrick Rose will be put to test with the recent injuries of Kirk Hinrich and Larry Hughes.
  • Being the youngest from their starters, Spurs could slow down with Parker being out for a couple of weeks.

Race to MVP by NBA’s Rob Peterson:
1. Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers (Prev: No. 1)
2. Chris Paul, New Orleans Hornets (Prev: No. 2)
3. Amare Stoudemire, Phoenix Suns (Prev: No. 8 )
4. Chris Bosh, Toronto Raptors (Prev: No. 5)
5. Joe Johnson, Atlanta Hawks (Prev: Not ranked)
6. Carlos Boozer, Utah Jazz (Prev: Not ranked)
7. LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers (Prev: No. 4)
8. Dwight Howard, Orlando Magic (Prev: No. 7)
9. Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat (Prev: Not ranked)
10. Tony Parker, San Antonio Spurs (Prev: Not ranked)

NBA Players of the Week

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James and the Phoenix Suns’ Amare Stoudemire today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for the week of Nov. 3-9.

James’ league-best 34.5 ppg last week helped Cleveland to a 4-0 mark. With wins over Dallas, Indiana and Chicago twice, the Cavaliers upped their season record to 5-2 and sit alone atop the Central Division. James added 9.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.3 blocks per contest.

With his second steal against Dallas on Nov. 3, James became the youngest (23 years, 308 days) and fastest (395 games) to eclipse the following milestones: 10,000 points, 2,500 rebounds, 2,500 assists, 700 steals and 300 blocks.

Stoudemire led the Suns to a 3-1 week, including victories over the Nets, Pacers and Bucks. Stoudemire averaged 28.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.5 blocks on the week. He erupted for 49 points on 17-of-21 shooting from the field and 15-of-15 shooting from the foul line in the Suns’ 113-103 victory at Indiana on Nov. 5. For the week, Stoudemire shot .646 (31-of-48) from the field and .927 (51-of-55) from the charity stripe.
